In an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a Capital Authorization Identifier code identifies the financial account under which an employee's work should be recorded for accounting purposes.
In PPM, the Cap Auth ID is a reference field that can be used to link project or non-project work to the appropriate financial account in an external system. When a project is created in PPM, the Cap Auth ID field is blank.
If the workspace is linked to a workspace external to PPM, the Cap Auth ID may be updated programmatically to set it to a value from the external system.
In PPM, project managers or administrators can edit the Cap Auth ID for a project and for non-project work. Work entries inherit the Cap Auth ID for their associated project or non-project work.
