About Dynamic Application Permissions
|
Dynamic applications have permissions that control everything from a user's ability to see the application, to a project manager's ability to create and edit a web form for inputting data into the application from outside of PPM.
For enterprise dynamic applications, these permissions work in conjunction with permissions defined at the Enterprise Role level. For workspace-level dynamic applications, these dynamic application permissions control all access to the application.
to CREATE A dynamic application - PERMISSIONS TAB
- On the Permissions tab,
select a workspace type from the Select
Workspace Type to view roles list.
- In each table row, select
one of the following check boxes to set permissions for each workspace role:
- Manage Web Form - Users can create and manage web forms for the application.
Note: This is only an option if a user has given the Manage All permission. Web forms make it possible for users to create application items on a web page, without logging in to PPM. For more information, see Creating
a Dynamic Application Web Form.
By default, this permission is enabled for project managers.
- Manage
All - Users can edit and delete all items created with the application.
This permission also gives you the ability to import data into a dynamic application. For more information, see Importing Dynamic Application Data.
By default, this permission is on for project managers.
- Manage
Own Only - Users can only edit and delete items that they created.
By default, this permission is enabled for team members.
- View
and Respond Only - Users can view items created
with the dynamic application. If item responses are enabled and the dynamic application has an assignee field, users can also respond to items assigned to them.
By default, this permission is enabled for guests.
- Create Custom Views - Users can create personal custom views for the application.
By default, this permission is enabled for project managers and team members.
- Manage Shared Custom Views - Users can create and share custom views for the application.
By default, this permission is enabled for project managers and team members. This is only an option if the Create Custom Views permission is also enabled.
Note: If you are an administrator creating a dynamic application in the Administrative Zone, the Create Custom Views and Manage Shared Custom Views options are irrelevant. The Create Custom Views and Manage Shared Custom Views permissions are set at the enterprise role level.
- Repeat this procedure to
set permissions for other workspace types.
Note: If you are creating an application within a workspace, you only have one WorkspaceType option.
- Click the Icontab. See the Icon
topic for more information.
This topic provides help for the Permissions
tab of the Create Dynamic Application wizard. For help on another tab,
click the name of the tab.
