Copying and Pasting in the Item List

Copy and paste tasks in the Item List to quickly add dynamic application items with the same characteristics as existing items. Note: A pasted item does not inherit every aspect of the original, copied item. For more information, see About Copying and Pasting in the Item List.

To copy and paste tasks in the Item list:

In the Item List, select the item you want to copy.
Select an item by clicking on the item row.

Select multiple items by pressing the Ctrl key and clicking with your mouse to select items that are not side-by-side, or Shift-click to select items that are next to each other.

Click the Copy icon on the Item List toolbar or Ctrl-C on your keyboard.
The selected task is copied to a PPM clipboard. (This is not the same as your computer clipboard, so copying an item will not overwrite any text you have previously copied into your local clipboard.)
In the same Item List or an Item List for the same dynamic application in a different workspace, select an existing item above which you want to paste the task you copied.
Click the Paste icon on the Item List chart toolbar or Ctrl-V on your keyboard.
Note: Where the item is added depends on several factors.
