Opening the Add, Edit, Update and View Panes
|
The Task List and dynamic application Item List views in workspaces use slide-out panes for adding, editing, updating and viewing details of individual items. The way you open a pane depends on what you are doing, and which application you are in.
To open a pane:
- Add Pane
- Click Add on the Toolbar, or press Insert
- Click on the last row in the Task List (Task List only)
- Update Pane (Task List)
- Right-click a task and click Update Task
- Edit Pane
- Click the Name field of a dynamic application item or the Name of a task
- Right-click on an item/task and click Edit <item>/ Edit Task
- Double-click a cell on an item that also includes an empty required field (Item List)
- Bulk Edit Pane
- Select multiple items and right-click, then click Edit
- Select multiple items and click the Selection menu, then click Edit (Item List)
- With the Edit pane open, select at least one more additional item/task
- If you select a combination of items/tasks for which you have edit permission and for which you do not have edit permission, the Bulk Edit pane still displays, only those items for which you have edit permission will be updated when you save your changes.
- If you select items/tasks for which you do not have edit permission, the Bulk Edit pane still displays, with a message saying you do not have edit permission for the selected items.
- View Pane (dynamic application Item List only)
- With no pane open, click the Name field of a dynamic application item for which you do not have edit permission
- With the edit pane open, select an application item for which you do not have edit permission
When a pane is open, certain actions result in specific responses. For details, see About Pane and List Interactions.
