Auto-Approval of Resource Requests
|
In most cases, when you request resources to fulfill your resource requirements, those requests are sent to the appropriate resource manager for action in Team Manager. There are two situations where a request is not sent to the resource manager.
Resource requests are automatically approved when:
- The Project Manager and Resource Manager are the same person—When the requesting project manager is also the assigned resource manager for the resource.
In this case, because the requesting project manager is also the resource manager for the resource, no notifications are sent.
or
- The Project is configured for Auto-Approval—When the resources are being requested for a project whose type specifies auto-approval of resources.
In this case, resource managers are sent a notification letting them know that one of their resources has been auto-approved for work in a project. They can see this assignment/allocation in Team Manager, just as with any other approved resource allocation.
Note: If you edit an existing resource allocation for a resource who no longer has an assigned Resource Manager, the request cannot be completed. For more information, see About Missing Resource Managers.
