Getting started in PPM can be as simple as logging
in for the first time, and clicking on the items you need to access. PPM
is designed with enormous flexibility and can be customized for your organization,
and in most cases this customization has been taken care of by your
administrator before you log in for the first time.
Understanding a bit about how to work in PPM can make
your experience more straightforward and easy. The following help topics
are a good place to start in order to customize your personal account,
and get an understanding of how to use PPM.
Important: The features
and functionality you see will depend on how your user profile and permissions
were set up by your administrator, and on how your organization has decided
to use PPM, so some help topics may not be applicable to you. Many topics
are applicable to all users, from workspace members to Executives to
project managers.
Getting Started
You just need to know about a few key features of Changepoint
PPM in order to start using it. These topics are designed to quickly explain
these key features to you:
- The
User Interface—Changepoint
PPM is designed to make it easy for you to do your job, no matter what
that job involves. In order to make the most of PPM, you should familiarize
yourself with certain basic aspects of the user interface. For

- Using
the Item Details Window—When
you click on an item (for example, a document, an issue, or a task),
the Item Details window opens. From this window you can do such things
as edit, update, and add comments to the item. For details, see Getting
Started with the Item Details Window.
Important: You must configure your browser to allow pop-up windows
for your Changepoint PPM web site. PPM uses pop-up windows to display Item Details.
If your browser does not allow pop-up windows for the Changepoint PPM web site,
you will
not be able to access all features.
- Using
the Actions Menu—The
Actions menu gives you the options you need in order to interact with
application items. Knowing where the menu is and how it functions makes
it simple for you to do such actions as update, comment on, link, and
