Map Microsoft Fields to Daptiv PPM Custom Fields
ProjectTransit gives you the ability to synchronize native and custom Microsoft Project task fields with custom fields in your PPM workspace. To synchronize fields, you first need to map the fields in Microsoft Project to corresponding custom fields in PPM.
The Map Custom Fields screen of the synchronization wizard gives you the option to map custom fields. The screen displays the following information:
- Unmapped Microsoft Project Fields - All the unmapped fields from your Microsoft Project file.
- Unmapped Daptiv PPM Fields - All the unmapped fields from your Changepoint PPM workspace.
- Mapped Fields - A table showing the mapped Microsoft Project fields and the PPM fields they have been mapped to.
Note: The Mapped Fields table displays any fields you map, as well as the default field mappings. You cannot edit or delete the default field mappings. For more information about default field mappings, see Default Field Mapping.
- The new mapping will appear in the Mapped Resources & Team Members list at the bottom of the Add & Map Resources screen, and the associated resource and team member will be removed from the Unmapped lists.
To map Microsoft Project fields to PPM custom fields:
- Select an unmapped field from the Unmapped Microsoft Project Fields list.
- Select a corresponding unmapped field from the Unmapped Daptiv PPM Fields list.
Note: Match data types of the fields if possible. The synchronization wizard attempts to convert data when mapped fields have different data types, but for best results map fields with the same data types.
- Click Map. The fields are mapped and moved to the top of the Mapped Fields list.
Unlike default field mappings, you can edit and delete a custom field mapping. To remove a field mapping, click the
icon.
Changing field mappings
You can change custom field mappings after you have synchronized your Microsoft Project schedule and PPM schedule. When you change a field mapping after you have synchronized, ProjectTransit moves the data from the old PPM custom field to the new field the next time you run the synchronization wizard.
