Administrators can edit billing rates, changing the name
of the rate, the description, the value, the status, the category, and
the start date for the rate. You can only save changes to a rate if the
rate is active (has a status of Active),
or if one of the changes you make is to make the rate active.
Note: are not changed when billing rates are changed because that represents work that has already been completed ().
To edit a billing rate:
- On the Administrative Home
page, under Resources, click Billing
Rates.
The Billing Rates screen displays.
- For the rate you want to
edit, click the Actions icon
and click Edit.
The Edit Billing Rate window opens.
- To change the name of the
rate, type the new name in the Rate Name
field.
- To change the description
of the rate, type the new description in the Description
field.
- To change the category
of the rate, select the new category from the Category
list.
- Use the Update
Value and Update Date fields
to change the value of a rate:
- To change the current value of a rate:
- Type the
new rate value in the Update Value
field.
- Verify that
the date in the Update Date field
is the current date.
It is automatically set to the current date if you are entering a new
update value (if there was no update value for the rate). It may have
a future date if you are changing an existing update value.
- To set a future value for the rate (for example,
if you know the rate will change at the beginning of a new fiscal year):
- Type the
new rate value in the Update Value
field.
- In the Update Date field, type
the date on which the rate value will change, or click the calendar icon
and select the date.
When that date arrives, the rate automatically changes to the Update Value.
- To change the status of
the rate from Inactive to Active, choose Active
from the Status list.
Note: If you want to make a billing rate inactive, you must
use the Checked Item Actions list.
For more information, see Editing
Billing Rates in Bulk.
- Click Save
to save the edited billing rate without closing the details window, or
Save & Close to save the edited
rate and close the details window.
