Changepoint PPM is designed to be flexible and as part of this
flexible design includes a wide variety of applications.
There are two primary types of applications in PPM:
- Global
Applications—These
cross-workspace applications are accessible from the global tabs visible
on every screen and are intended for use by all users.
Global applications provide you immediate access to data specific to
you. Open an application by clicking a tab. A list of items specific to
that application displays (issues, tasks, or documents, for example).
Use the Actions icon
to open a context-sensitive Actions
menu of item-specific actions, or click on the name of an item to open
the details window. For more information, see Global
Applications Overview.
- Workspace
Applications—These workspace-specific applications are accessible from the Workspace Menu within
each workspace and are intended primarily for project managers and other
workspace team members.
Workspace applications give you access to information for the workspace,
including information about items belonging to all the workspace team members.
You can view data in several different formats with workspace applications,
including some views that illustrate relationships between items, like
a Gantt chart view of project tasks.
Use the Actions icon
, or, in the Tasks List view and dynamic application Item List views, right-click on an item to open a context-sensitive Actions menu of item-specific
actions. You can also click on an item name to open the details window. For more
information, see Workspace Applications
Overview.
Note: If you do not have administrative permissions and run
a workspace application, you will only see your own items. You will not
see items belonging to other team members.
In addition to the (native) applications,
you can create custom Dynamic Applications.
For more information, see Dynamic Application Overview.
