About the Item List Selection Maximum
|
The workspace-level dynamic application Item List gives you the ability to edit or delete multiple items at one time. These bulk actions can make it easy to manage your items, but there are some limitations when doing them.
For performance reasons, there is a limit to the number of items you can select at any one time. This means there is a limitation to how many items you can edit or delete at one time.
How selections behave once you reach that maximum depend on how you are making your selections. Understanding how bulk selections work is easier when you look at specific examples:
(Note: All examples assume you select more than the maximum allowed number of items, unless otherwise noted.)
- Shift+click to select contiguous items:
- If the first item you select is above the last item you select, the selection extends from the first item you selected, to the last allowable item before your selection ends.
Example: Limit is 100 items, you select item 3, then Shift+click item 150. Items 3 - 103 are selected.
- If the first item you select is below the last item you select (if you are selecting up the list), the selection extends from the first item you select, up to the last allowable item.
Example: Limit is 100 items, you select item 125, then Shift+click item 3. Items 25 - 125 are selected.
- Ctrl+click to select non-contiguous items:
- When you reach the maximum allowed number of items, you cannot select any additional items, and a message displays telling you that you have reached the maximum.
- Ctrl+A to select all items in the list:
- The maximum number of items is selected, starting with the first item in the list, and a message displays telling you that you have reached the maximum.
