Editing Dynamic Application Items in the Item List
|
You can use the Dynamic Application Item List to view and edit dynamic application items in-line.
Because dynamic applications are made up of custom fields, how you edit a specific application depends on the fields it includes.
Editing Options
- Inline Editing
Double-click a field in the Item List to put it into edit mode and use your keyboard and/or mouse to change or update the value of the field.
- Editing in the Edit Pane
The Edit pane provides access to all the fields of the item, even if they are not currently displayed in the Item List. Click the name field of an item (usually the item name) to open the Edit pane.
Note: If you click Edit <item name> from the context-sensitive menu, or try to edit a field of an item that includes a separate, empty required field, the Edit Pane opens. For more information, see About Add, Edit, Update and View Panes.
- Bulk-Editing
Select multiple items and click Edit from the context-sensitive menu to open the Bulk Edit Pane, where you can make common changes to all selected items (for which you have edit permission). For more information, see Bulk Editing Items in the Item List.
Editing and Keyboard Use
The Item List provides support for keyboard users. For detailed information on keyboard interactions with fields in the Item List, see Keyboard Support in Task List and Item List.
Special Field Types
A few field types behave in unique ways:
-
Some fields (or some records) may be read-only for specific users or for all users.
-
Related Items column displays icons for any items related to the current item.
