ProjectTransit can automatically map resource names from Microsoft Project to PPM members based on the spelling of the names. Although this is not a foolproof method, it can save significant time with long resource lists by automatically mapping the most obvious resources. The auto-mapping relies primarily on recognizing first and last names with identical spelling.
For example, John Doe and J. Doe will be recognized as the same person because they have the same last name and same first name initial. In contrast, John Doe and Jane Doe will not be recognized as the same person because they have different first names.
Note: You have the option to unmap any auto-mapped resources that you decide are incorrectly matched.
