Safeguarding information and controlling access are major
concerns for any administrator.
Administrators have a range of ways to control the level of security related to their PPM enterprise. These include setting requirements on login passwords, enabling an automatic lockout if based on number of failed login attempts, allowing users to reset their own passwords after answering challenge questions, and defining a length of time that a login session will persist.
Each organization will have its own security requirements and specifications, so how you configure your enterprise security properties will be dependent on your specific needs.
PPM Security properties are divided into 4 different categories:
- Password Policy—In the Password Policy section, define specifics about what a valid password is and how long it remains valid.
- Password Lockout—In the Password Lockout section, if enabled, specify how many failed attempts to log in a user can make before they are locked out, and how long they are locked out.
- Challenge Questions—In the Challenge Questions section, if enabled, specify how many questions a user must answer before they can successfully change their password from the login page. Note: Configuring this does not automatically enable this feature for the user. Each user must also configure their individual questions/answers before they can change their password from the PPM Login page.
- Persistent Login—In the Persistent Login section, if enabled, specify how long a logged in session will remain active (not require a new login).
