Capacity Planner custom views can impact the values displayed and the resulting net availability shown. Understanding how custom views interact with displayed data is vital for making the best use of Capacity Planner.
Two aspects of custom views have an impact on Capacity Planner:
With custom views, you specify which workspace types to include. You can also define filters that impact the included workspaces.
Custom views include or exclude workspaces based on their workspace type. Workspaces are shown in a Capacity Planner view only if their workspace type was specifically included in the view.
If a workspace type is excluded from the view, no workspaces of that type are shown and any resource requirements for the excluded workspaces have no impact on Net Availability.
A custom view can include filters that operate on the workspaces include in the view. Net Availability values represent only those workspaces visible in the view. This means that two custom views that filter different workspaces may have different Net Availability values. In addition, filters impact planned workspaces differently than they impact unplanned workspaces.
