About Planned /Unplanned Capacity

The Capacity Planner groups workspaces as Unplanned or Planned, with unplanned workspaces displayed at the top of the workspaces list and planned workspaces on the bottom of the list.

Determining whether a workspace is planned or unplanned:

The Planned/Unplanned determination is specific to your organization and your workflow. Setting a workspace capacity to Planned does not impact the requirements in the workspace, nor make any specific commitments related to resource allocation. It simply moves a workspace or request from the upper section of the display to the lower one, making it easier to focus on workspaces or requests that are still in discussion.

For some, setting all high priority workspaces to Planned and all others to Unplanned allows them to identify which workspaces can be started beyond the highest priority (must-do) ones. For other organizations the determination has more to do with how far along in planning a workspace is.

Important: The workspaces displayed in the Unplanned and Planned lists are based on the current custom view, so the list may not include all unplanned workspaces. For more information, see About Capacity Planner Custom Views.
