Viewing Individual Resource Utilization Details (Gantt Chart)

 

To view details of a team member's (resource), double-click on the resource name in the Sidebar. (How are the utilization details determined?)

Note: This topic focuses on viewing resource utilization for a particular user. To view utilization of resources based on a selected task or tasks, see Viewing Resource Utilization.

TO VIEW utilization details for a resource:

  1. In the Gantt chart, open the Sidebar.
  2. In the Sidebar, double-click the name of a team member. The Resource Utilization Details window opens.
    A graph displays the utilization of the resource. Utilization is for all workspaces for which the resource has task assignments.



    The following information is displayed in the graph:
  3. The vertical axis measures number of hours of work.
  4. The horizontal axis lists days of the month.
  5. If you had a task selected when you opened the Resource Utilization Details window, this axis starts at the task Start Date.
  6. If no task was selected, this starts at the current (today's) date.
  7. Use the date field to jump to another date, or click Today to jump to the current date.
  8. Gray vertical bars indicate weekend days.
  9. Yellow indicates the hours the resource is available, based on their workweek calendar.
  10. Bars in the graph indicate the number of hours of scheduled work on each day:
  11. Total number of hours of scheduled work for each day is indicated by the height of a bar.
  12. Utilization for the current workspace display in blue.
  13. Utilization for all other workspaces to which the resource is assigned display in gray.
  14. If the workspace member is over utilized (scheduled work exceeds the number of available hours, as specified in the workweek calendar and any non-working time), the number of over utilized hours is shown in red.
  1. To change the time period for which the details display:
  2. Click the Previous () or Next () arrows at the top of the details
  3. Use the date field to specify a date, or
  4. Click Today to jump the view to the current day
  5. To close the window, click OK.
