Managing Timesheets as Workspace Manager

In addition to using Timesheets to update and submit a personal timesheet, a project manager can use the Timesheets application to manage timesheets for the members of their workspace(s). Use the Timesheets By Workspace view to see a list of timesheets for your workspace members. (This option only appears if you have the workspace-level View Timesheets permission, by default given to users with a workspace-level role of Manager.)

Note: If you are a supervisor or resource manager, you can use the Timesheets application to view and manage the timesheets for resources you supervise or manage. For more information, see Managing Timesheets as a Resource Manager.

To Manage Timesheets as Workspace Manager:

  1. From the Timesheets by Workspace view, use the Actions icon to take action on a timesheet:
Note: The actions available to you depend on your role and permissions and on the status of the timesheet you are viewing.
  2. Submit for Approval—Available if the timesheet is open, overdue or declined and you are supervisor or resource manager for the user. For more information, see Submitting a Timesheet for Approval.
  3. Approve Timesheet—Available if the timesheet is pending approval and you are an approver for the timesheet. For more information, see Approving Timesheets.
  4. Decline Timesheet—Available if the timesheet is pending approval and you are an approver for the timesheet. For more information, see Declining Timesheets.
  5. Reopen Timesheet—Available if the timesheet is approved. For more information, see Reopening Timesheets.
  6. Edit Timesheet Comment—For more information, see Adding Comments to a Timesheet.
  7. Export to Excel— Opens the Export wizard so you can export the timesheet data to Excel.
    Note:
The export is not specific to an individual timesheet. The wizard allows you to select what timesheet data to export, including whose timesheets. For more information, see Exporting Timesheets.
  8. To open the details of a timesheet, click the time period of a timesheet.
The timesheet details open in a new window.
  9. If the timesheet is open, declined, or overdue, the details open in edit view so you can update the entries.
  10. If the timesheet is pending your approval, the details open in edit view so you can update the entries.
